Know all men by these presents that we
Daniel Davis as principal and Thomas G
Settle and Rebecca Brotherton as Securities
are held and firmly bound unto the State of
Misfouri in the sum of One thousand
Dollars, to which payment well and
truely to be made we bind ourselves, our
heirs and executors firmly by these
presents sealed and dated this 4th
day of December AD 1846.

The Condition of the above
bond is such that whereas the said
Daniel Davis has this day [been ?]
obtained a license to remain in
the state of Missouri as a free
person of Color.

Now if the said
Daniel Davis shall be of good be=
havior for and during the time
he shall remain in the state aforesaid
thent his obligation to be void else
to remain in full force & effect.
