Know all men by these presents that we
London Berry as principal and William
C. Anderson Jr. as security are held and firmly
bound in the just sum of two Hundred dollars
each to the State of Missouri the payment whereof
well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves
our heirs executors and administrators firmly
by these presents;
The condition of this
obligation is such that whereas the said London
Berry has this day obtained from the Honorable
the County Court of St. Louis County a license
to reside and remain in the State of Missouri
as a free person of color under the provisions
of an act entitled an act to prevent more
effectually free persons of color from en-
tering into this State and for other purposes
Approved 23d February 1843;
Now if the said
London Berry shall be of good behavior du-
ring the continuance of said license, then the
above obligation is void, otherwise to remain
in full force and virtue;
In Witness whereof we have hereunto set
our hands and seals at the City of St. Louis,
County of St. Louis and State of Missouri this
Sixth day of November A.D. 1845;
*Diogenes Witmore*
*London Berry*
*WC Anderson Jr*
