Know all men by these presents that I Pierre Alfred
Marchand as principal and [ ?] Louis Charleville_
as security, are held and firmly bound to the State
of Missouri as follows, the said Pierre Alfred Marchand
in the sum of Two hundred dollars and the said
[ ?] Louis Charleville in the sum of Two hundred dollars,
for the payment of which sum of money, to be well and
faithfully made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors
and administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed
with our seals and dated this twenty first day of
June A.D. 1843.
This obligation is such, that whereas on the 21st
day of June 1843, the County Court of Saint Louis
County hath granted a license to the said Pierre Alfred
Marchand to remain in the State of Missouri so long
as he shall be of good behavior, in accordance with
an act "entitled "an act more effectually to prevent free
persons from entering into this state, and for other
purposes" approved Feb. 23, 1843.
Now if the above bounden Pierre Alfred Marchand
shall well demean & conduct himself & be of good
behavior during the continuance of the above license
in the State of Missouri then this obligation to be
void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
*P.A. Marchand*
