Know all men by these presents that we
Leroy Tannert as principal Herman L. Hoffman
as security are held and firmly bound unto
the State of Misouri in the sum of Two
hundred dollars each for the true payment
of which we bind ourselves ourheirs executors
and administrators firmly by these presents
sealed with our seals this 4th of May A.D. 1843
The condition of the above obligation is
such that wherease the county Court for the
County of St. Louis has this day granted
to the above named Leroy Tanner a free
man of color a License to reside in this
State of Missouri. Now if the said Leroy
Tanner shall be of good behaviour and
properly demean himself during his
residence in the State of Missouri then
this obligation to be null and void other-
wise to remailin full force and virtue
