Know all men by these presents that we Bird Wade
as principal and Joshua B. Brant as security are held
and firmly bound unto the State of Missouri, in the sum of
two hundred dollars each for the true payment of which
we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators firmly
by these presents sealed with our seals this third day of
May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and forty-three.
The condition of the above obligation is such
that whereas the County Court begun and held for the
County of S Louis and State of Missouri has this day
granted to the above named Bird Wade a free person
of color, a license to reside in the State of Missouri.
Now if the said Bird Wade shall well and truly demean
himself and be of good behavior then this bond to be
null and void otherwise to remain in full force and
virtue
