Know all men by these presents that
I Mariah Buckner as principal and Alexander
Phillippi as security are held and firmly bound
unto the State of Missouri in the sum of two
hundred dollars to the payment of which
well and truly to be made we bind ourselves
our heirs, executors and administrators
firmly by these presents sealed with our
seals and dated this third day of May in
the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and
forty three

The condition of this obligation is
such that whereas the County Court in
and for the County of St Louis has the
day and year above written granted a
license to the said Mariah Buckner
to reside within said State of Missouri

Now if the said Mariah Buckner shall
during her residence within said
State honestly and soberly as a good
citizen deport & conduct herself then
this bond to be void otherwise to remain
in full force & virtue in Law
