Know all men by these presents, that We
Parker Campbell + Margaret his wife
as principals and H.J. Beer + Thomas G
Martin as securities are held and firmly
bound unto the State of Missouri, ~~are held~~
~~xx~~ in the sum of two Hundred Dollars
each to be paid to the state of Missouri
for which payment well + truly to be
made, we do hereby bind ourselves, our
heirs, executors, adminsitrators, and
Every of them firmly by these presents.
sealed with our seals, and dated
this first day of May AD Eighteen
Hundred + Forty three.
The conditions of this obligation
is such that whereas this county
court of St. Louis Coutly has this
day granted to the said Margaret
Campbell a free coloured woman
wife of Parker Campbell a licence coloured
man - a licence to ~~xx~~ reside in
this state. Now therefore if the said
Margaret Campbell during her residence
in this said state of Missouri shall
well + truly conduct herself and a
peaceeable - sober - honest + upright Manner
then this obligation to be void, + of no
effect_ or otherwise to be in full force
and virtue in Law.
