William Clark , complains of [illegible] Jeremiah Connor of a plea that he [illegible] to him the sum of one thousand
Twelve dollars, & ninety [illegible] seven & one half cents, [illegible] lawful money
of the United States , which [illegible] to him the said [illegible] Jeremiah Connor
justly owes and from him [illegible] unjustly detains.- for that
the said Defendant on the thirty first day of July in
the [illegible] year , one thousand eight hundred & nine, [illegible] at the
Town of district of Saint Louis , by his certain [illegible] writing
obligatory of that [illegible] sealedwith his [illegible] seal and
[illegible] to the plaintiff then [illegible] & there delivering ( and [illegible] now to the
Court [illegible] promised the plaintiff by the [illegible] name
and [illegible] of [illegible] William Clark [illegible] Indian
agent to pay to him a [illegible] the sum of Sixty
two dollars [illegible] ninety seven and [illegible] one half cents - in [illegible] six
months after the [illegible] date of [illegible] For [illegible] value received-
and also for that the said defendant at
[illegible] the Town of District [illegible] of Saint Louis , on the thirty [illegible] five
day of [illegible] Year, [illegible] one thousand eight hundred
[illegible] nine , by his certain [illegible] other obligatory of that
[illegible] date, sealed with his [illegible] seal, and to the plaintiff then
then [illegible] & there delivered now to the [illegible] court
promised him by the name of [illegible] Gen.
William Clark to pay to him, six months after the date of said [illegible] note or order the sum of fifty dollars for a [illegible]

and for the district of Saint Louis on the first Monday
of March next then and there to Answer unto William
Clark in aplea of Debt the sum of one hundred and twelve dol-
