[illegible] Manseau for this that the said [illegible] Joseph at the District
aforesaid on the thirteenth day of july in the year one
thousand eight hundred and nine by his certain promissory
note of that date, by him with his own proper mark or
signature then & [illegible] there subscribed, promised the plaintiff
as follows- On demand [illegible] I promise to pay Gen william
Clark, agent for the Missouri [illegible] Fur Company , on order the
[illegible] just and [illegible] full [illegible] Sum [illegible] of two hundred and fifteen Dollars
and ninety eight cents for value [illegible] received St Louis July
