the District of Louisiana
greeting
We command you to summon Louis Labeaume , if he may be found,
within your bailwick,[?] that he be and appear before the justices of our Court
of Common pleas to be holden at the town of St Louis in and for the District
of St. Louis , on the third thursday of March instant these then to answer unto
William Clark of a plea of trespass, [illegible] [illegible] [illegible] damage of the said
William Clark the sum of five hundred Dollars and have then their this [illegible]

Court at the town of St Louis aforesaid the fifth day of march instant in

We Command you and way [illegible] you that without any manner, of excuse, Whatever that you
and each, of you appear in your proper person before the justice of one Court of Common,
Pleas, to be holden at the town, of St Louis in and for the district of Saint Louis on
the Tuesday, of June, next at nine of the clock in the fore noon, of that day to,
testify all and, singular the truth you know in are [illegible] of [illegible] the [illegible]
Depending in our said Court and that then to be tried [illegible] william Clarke ,
is plaintiff and Louis Labeaume , is Defendant on the penalty, of one

of June, term, in the Common [illegible]
Louis, [illegible] was, lately, attached to [illegible] william Clarke of a plea of [illegible]
on the case, and thereupon, the send William by his attorney complains that whereas
the said Louis, on the day of at the district, of S Louis and with
in the [illegible] of this court, [illegible] [illegible] to the said william at the sum, of five, hundred dollars for [illegible] money by him he said Louis, before that, to, the, use, the said [illegible] before that to the [illegible]
of the said William , had and received and being so [illegible] he the said Louis,
in consideration thereof afterwards [illegible] on the [illegible] day [illegible] aforesaid at the place
and within the [illegible] aforesaid than & these [illegible] faithfully promised the
said William to pay [illegible] the sum, [illegible] of five hundred dollars, wherever of [illegible]
he should be thereunto [illegible] And whereas afterwards [illegible] on the same
